Rain Halts Baseball Game Versus Clark

AUBURNDALE, Fla. – Penn State Altoona baseball's game against Clark University on Tuesday at Lake Myrtle Park was stopped due to rain, and play was suspended for the day because of the weather and wet field conditions.

Penn State Altoona and Clark were tied 1-1 through one-and-a-half innings, but a steady rain turned into a heavier downpour, and umpires halted play. After an extended period of heavy rain, the decision was made to move the rest of the game to Wednesday, March 6, beginning at 5:00 p.m. at Lake Myrtle Park.

Clark (1-2) grabbed a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on Nick Jordan's sacrifice fly to right. Penn State Altoona (1-5) tied the game in the top of the second inning when Austin Anderson (Macungie, PA/Emmaus) drew a walk and later came around to score on James Mays' (Dyer, IN/Lake Central) RBI single to right.

After the third out of the inning, the teams were called off the field and the game was suspended.
