Men’s Soccer Falls to Pitt-Greensburg, 3-0

YOUNGWOOD, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's soccer team started off its October schedule with a 3-0 loss at the hands of conference opponent Pitt-Greensburg on Wednesday at WCCC Field.

Pitt-Greensburg's (5-3-2, 2-0-1 AMCC) Zander Plizga, Kyle Ryan and Kaleb Raymond contributed goals to complete the home win against the Lions.

Sasha Mohoruk (State College, PA/State College) made his seventh start of the season at goalkeeper for Penn State Altoona (3-3-1, 2-2 AMCC) and recorded four saves on seven shots he faced during the game.

Ethan Firth (York, PA/Central York), Connor McBride (Philadelphia, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) and Henry Couchara (Plymouth Meeting, PA/Plymouth Whitemarsh) all contributed one shot apiece for the Lions, with Couchara's representing the Lions' lone shot on goal.

The Bobcats started the scoring early with Plizga's goal at 14:54 in the first half. Although the Lions had a few chances throughout the first half, the Bobcats held onto their 1-0 lead heading into the second half.

At the start of the second half, the Lions started off strong but could not convert on their scoring chances. Ryan extended the Bobcats' lead to 2-0 at 61:50, and Raymond scored at 85:36, which secured the Bobcats' win.

Up next, the Penn State Altoona men's soccer returns home to Spring Run Stadium on Saturday, October 7, as they take on AMCC opponent Hilbert at 3:15 p.m.
