Men’s Swimming Triumphs 92-88 at Gallaudet

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Penn State Altoona men's swimming returned to action on Friday night, picking up its second dual meet win of the season with a 92-88 victory over non-conference opponent Gallaudet University at the Field House Pool.

The Lions' win was highlighted by four first place finishes during the meet.

In the meet's first event, the 200 Yard Medley Relay, the team of Dominic Woods (Pittsburgh, PA/Brentwood), Tom Weir (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield), Andrew Lesnett (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley), and Caleb Marasco (Altoona, PA/Altoona) combined for a time of 1:52.04 to come in first place.

In the 50 Yard Freestyle, Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) came in first with a time of 23.50. Lesnett earned a first place finish in the 100 Yard Freestyle, as he clocked in at 53.77 to finish ahead of his competitors.

Penn State Altoona wrapped up the meet when it won the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, during which Yaw, Benjamin McConnell (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle), Marasco, and Gino Cercone (Allison Park, PA/Shaler) came together for a time of 1:39.84 to achieve first.

The Lions return home for their next meet on Tuesday, January 16, when they will host non-conference opponent Wells College at 5:00 p.m.
