Swimming Program Announces 2018-19 Schedule
ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming program released its 2018-19 schedule on Monday.
The schedule is comprised of 11 regular season dates, leading up to the four-day Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships in February.
Penn State Altoona starts its season on Saturday, October 13, when it will travel to compete in the Pitt-Bradford Panther Relays at 1:00 p.m. On Saturday, October 27, the Lions and Lady Lions will host their first home event of the season when they welcome AMCC foe Pitt-Bradford to the Adler Natatorium for a dual meet at 1:00 p.m.
The next month's schedule starts on Saturday, November 3, when Penn State Altoona will host a women's-only dual meet against AMCC opponent Franciscan University at 1:00 p.m. After that, the men's and women's teams will both face non-conference opponent Juniata College for a home meet at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 9. The next day, the Lions and Lady Lions hit the road to face non-conference foe Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m. The month wraps up on Saturday, November 17, when Penn State Altoona's squads travel to play AMCC opponent Alfred State College at 1:00 p.m.
Penn State Altoona competes in one event during December, as the Lions and Lady Lions will travel to compete against non-conference SUNY Delhi on Saturday, December 1 at 11:30 a.m.
The schedule picks back up in January with four away dual meets for the men's and women's swimming teams: Saturday, January 12 at Bethany College at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 15 at Wells College at 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 18 at Gallaudet University at 6:00 p.m., and Saturday, January 26 at AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend at 1:00 p.m.
February holds the season-ending AMCC Championships, a four-day meet hosted at Penn State Behrend to determine the conference's men's and women's champions. The AMCC Championships are scheduled to occur from Wednesday, February 13 through Saturday, February 16.
