Men’s Swimming Falls 99-74 in Home Opener

ALTOONA, Pa. – In its first meet of the 2018-19 season, Penn State Altoona men's swimming suffered a 99-74 loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday afternoon in the Adler Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona notched two first place finishes, one in an individual swim and the other in a relay event.

Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) placed first in the 50 Yard Freestyle, grabbing nine points by clocking in at 23.57. In the meet's final event, the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the squad of Bryce Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), Michael Begany (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville), Tyler Stauss (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional), and Matt Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) combined for a time of 1:51.25 to win.

Next up for the Penn State Altoona men's swimming team is another dual meet at home, when the Lions will host non-conference opponent Juniata College on Friday, November 9 at 5:00 p.m.
