Men’s Swimming Tops Bradford, Delhi in Saturday Meet

BRADFORD, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's swimming picked up a pair of wins on Saturday afternoon, when the Lions posted victories over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponents Pitt-Bradford and SUNY Delhi at the Paul C. Duke III Aquatic Center.

Penn State Altoona topped Pitt-Bradford 369-282 and also defeated SUNY Delhi 379-215.

Penn State Altoona racked up a season-high 10 first place finishes during the meet, winning all but one of the men's events.

Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield), Kieran McKee (York, PA/West York), and Greg Landis (York, PA/West York) combined for six of Penn State Altoona's 10 first places, recording two first place finishes apiece.

Swanson won the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:50.62, and he later placed first in the 100 Yard Backstroke by clocking in at 55.90.

McKee prevailed in the 50 Yard Freestyle when he touched the pad at 23.68, and he also took first in the 100 Yard Butterfly with a time of 57.52.

Landis finished atop the standings in the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 57.12, and he later came in first place in the 100 Yard Breaststroke by finishing in 1:11.41.

Tyler Stauss (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) took first in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 12:09.88. Michael Begany (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville) won the 500 Yard Freestyle by earning a time of 5:48.65.

The Lions' other wins came in relay events at the open and close of the meet.

Penn State Altoona started the meet by winning the 400 Yard Medley Relay, as Begany, HaoYing Hsieh (Allison Park, PA/North Allegheny), McKee, and Bryce Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) combined for a time of 4:09.37.

In the meet's final event, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, the team of Taylor Bohn (Chadds Ford, PA/Unionville), Stauss, Landis, and Swanson came together to take first with a total time of 3:43.12.

Next up, Penn State Altoona men's swimming will make the short trip to Huntingdon, Pa. to face non-conference opponent Juniata College in a meet on Friday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m.
