Swanson Receives AMCC Men’s Swimmer of the Week Award

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona freshman Isaac Swanson (Clearfield, PA/Clearfield) was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Men's Swimmer of the Week on Monday.

Swanson had a hand in three total first place finishes for the Lions in a dual meet win at non-conference opponent Juniata College this past Friday evening. The freshman won two individual swims and was also part of a first place finish in a relay event.

Swanson won the 200 SC Meter IM with a time of 2:19.37. He also took first in the 400 SC Meter Freestyle, logging a time of 4:23.03. Additionally, Swanson was part of the team that won the 200 SC Meter Relay with a combined time of 1:48.77.

Penn State Altoona defeated Juniata 96-50 in the meet.

This is Swanson's first collegiate AMCC Men's Swimmer of the Week award, and it is the first time this season that a Lions men's swimmer has earned the honor.

Penn State Altoona men's swimming returns to action this Saturday, November 16 at 1:00 p.m., when the Lions will host their home opener against AMCC opponent Alfred State College.
