Men’s Swimming Tops St. Vincent, 139-122

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team improved to 2-0 in dual meets this season, as the Lions took down non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College 139-22 on Saturday afternoon in the Adler Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona totaled seven first-place finishes as a team. Brian Nguyen (Lancaster, PA/Manheim Township) and Caden Traggiai (Sarver, PA/Knoch) led the way with two wins apiece for the Lions.

Traggiai notched the first win of the day for Penn State Altoona when he took first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:12.02. Later, he achieved a victory in the 500 Yard Freestyle after clocking in at 4:55.03.

Nguyen prevailed in the 200 Yard Breaststroke, compiling a time of 2:16.74. His second win of the meet came in the 200 Yard IM, in which he finished in 2:04.91.

Meanwhile, Adam Dotts (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) and Adam Marawan (Dubai, UAE/GEMS Dubai American Academy) also won events for Penn State Altoona. Dotts earned first place in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:54.54, and Marawan won the 100 Yard Freestyle in 49.42.

Penn State Altoona punctuated its meet win by taking first place in the day's final event, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. In that swim, the foursome of Marawan, Traggiai, Rocco Solimeo (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt), and Dotts combined for a time of 3:19.77 to finish atop the standings.

Next up, Penn State Altoona men's swimming takes on its first Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent of the season, as the Lions will host league foe Alfred State College next Saturday, November 4 at 1 p.m.
