Men’s Swimming Defeats Alfred State, 110-95

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's swimming team extended their winning streak to three, as they topped Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College 110-95 on Saturday afternoon in the Adler Natatorium.

Penn State Altoona totaled seven first-place finishes as a team. Adam Marawan (Dubai, UAE/GEMS Dubai American Academy) and Caden Traggiai (Sarver, PA/Knoch) led the way with two wins apiece for the Lions.

Traggiai notched the first win of the day for Penn State Altoona when he took first place in the 1000 Yard Freestyle with a time of 10:33.01. Later, he achieved a victory in the 500 Yard Freestyle, clocking in a time of 5:00.63.

Marawan's first win for the Lions came when he took first place in the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 22.02. Later, he prevailed in the 100 Yard Freestyle, finishing with a time of 48.51.

Hunter McMullen (Colver, PA/Central Cambria) was triumphant in the 100 Yard Butterfly, compiling a time of 53.90. Meanwhile, Eugene Heyman (Boiling Springs, PA/Boiling Springs) also won an event for the Lions when he earned first place in the 100 Yard Backstroke with a time of 56.69.

Penn State Altoona added to their overall performance by taking first place in the day's final event, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay. In that swim, the foursome of McMullen, Marawan, Rocco Solimeo (Harrisburg, PA/Bishop McDevitt) and Jack Zisa (Yardley, PA/Pennsbury) combined for a time of 3:18.90 to finish atop the standings.

Coming up, Penn State Altoona men's swimming will compete in the three-day Malone University Invitational on Thursday, November 16 through Saturday, November 18.
