Men’s Tennis Tops Pitt-Bradford 7-2

BRADFORD, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis got its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule off to a good start on Saturday afternoon, when it defeated conference foe Pitt-Bradford 7-2.

The Lions (1-0, 1-0 AMCC) took two out of three doubles matches to start the day. In No. 2 doubles, the duo of Parag Dharbhamulla (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop)/Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) earned an 8-0 blanking of their opponents. In No. 3 doubles, Logan Kyle (Reedsville, PA/Mifflin County)/Tao Yang (Emporium, PA/Cameron County) won 8-2.

Penn State Altoona advanced to singles play, where it won five out of six matches. Dharbhamulla prevailed 6-0, 7-5 in No. 2 singles, and Graden followed with a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 3 spot. Yang posted a 6-0, 6-0 whitewash of his opponent in No. 4 singles, Jonathan D'Arcy (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 singles, and Kyle triumphed 6-3, 6-2 in the No. 6 slot.

Lions tennis is right back at it tomorrow, Sunday, March 18, when they play a home match against AMCC opponent Pitt-Greensburg at 1:00 p.m. at the Gorilla House Gym in Altoona.
