Lions Tennis Cruises to 9-0 Win Over Mount Aloysius

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis continued its hot start to the 2018 season on Friday night, defeating Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College 9-0 in a match hosted by the Mounties at the Summit Tennis and Athletic Club.

The Lions (3-0, 3-0 AMCC) picked up three points in doubles play. Jake Colledge (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Parag Dharbhamulla (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) won 8-4 in No. 1 doubles, Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin)/Jonathan D'Arcy (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) prevailed 8-6 in No. 2 doubles, and Logan Kyle (Reedsville, PA/Mifflin County)/Andrew Ung (Upper Chichester, PA/Chichester) won courtesy of a forfeit in No. 3 doubles.

Penn State Altoona continued its momentum into singles, where it swept all six matches. Colledge won 6-1, 6-1 in the No. 1 singles match, and Dharbhamulla battled to a 4-6, 6-4, 10-1 victory in the No. 2 match. Graden was able to grind out a 4-6, 6-2, 11-9 victory in No. 3 singles, and Tao Yang (Emporium, PA/Cameron County) picked up a 6-1, 6-2 win in the No. 4 slot. D'Arcy won 6-1, 6-0 in No. 5 singles, and the Lions picked up another point via forfeit in the No. 6 match.

Lions tennis continues its stretch of three matches in the span of three days tomorrow, Saturday, March 24, when it hosts non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College for a 1:00 p.m. match at the Gorilla House Gym in Altoona.
