Lions Drop Non-Conference Match at W&J

MCMURRAY, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis lost its Friday night non-conference match with Washington & Jefferson College, as the Lions fell 7-2 to the Presidents at the Peters Township Tennis Center.

W&J (6-2) won all three doubles matches before taking four out of six singles matches.

Penn State Altoona (3-3) picked up points in the No. 2 and No. 3 singles matches. Parag Dharbhamulla (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) prevailed 7-5, 6-1 in the No. 2 match, and Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) earned a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the No. 3 match. Dharbhamulla's win boosts his overall singles record to 4-2 this season, while Graden's win gives him a 5-1 overall record, tied for best on the team.

Lions tennis' next match is Sunday, April 8, when the team will travel to take on Frostburg State University for a 1:00 p.m. match.
