CUMBERLAND, Md. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis suffered a 7-2 loss to non-conference opponent Frostburg State University on Friday evening at Constitution Park. 

Frostburg (3-9) swept doubles play to grab the early 3-0 lead in the match, and the Bobcats proceeded to win four out of six singles matches to earn the five-point win on the day.

Penn State Altoona (3-4) scored two points with wins in singles. In the No. 2 singles spot, Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin) won 6-4, 6-0 to move into a tie for second place on the Lions tennis all-time singles wins record, with 17 singles victories in his career. In No. 4 singles, Jonathan D'Arcy (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) earned a 6-3, 6-4 victory.

Graden and D'Arcy are both tied for the most singles wins on the team this season, as each player holds a 6-1 overall record in singles play.

Men's tennis returns to action tomorrow, Saturday, April 14, when it plays its last Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference match of the regular season. The Lions host Franciscan University for a 1:00 p.m. match at the Leopold Tennis Courts at Altoona Area High School.
