ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis was eliminated from the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Tournament on Saturday evening, when the Lions suffered a 5-0 loss to Penn State Behrend in the tournament's semifinal round at Westwood Racquet Club.

Penn State Behrend (12-7), the number two seed in the tournament, will advance to face top-seeded Franciscan University in tomorrow's AMCC championship match.

Behrend handled third-seeded Penn State Altoona (3-6) in doubles, winning the three matches by scores of 8-6, 8-4, and 8-1. After that, the Lions suffered a 6-1, 6-2 defeat in No. 1 singles and a 6-2, 6-1 loss in No. 4 singles to clinch the match in favor of Behrend.

Despite the team's AMCC Tournament loss, Penn State Altoona men's tennis still has three non-conference dates remaining on its 2018 schedule. The Lions' next match is Tuesday, April 24 against Bethany College. That match is scheduled to be played at the Leopold Tennis Courts at Altoona Area High School and will start at approximately 3:30 p.m.
