Virtual Senior Day: Men’s Tennis

The second installment in our "Virtual Senior Day" series for spring sports affected by the COVID-19 spread features men's tennis. The Lions' final home match of the 2019-20 season would have been today, Tuesday, April 14. In lieu of the typical pre-match Senior Day ceremony, we would like to highlight the men's tennis team's lone senior player, Andrew Ung (Upper Chichester, PA/Chichester).

Andrew Ung

Chichester, Pa.

Senior Andrew Ung has been a four-year member of the Penn State Altoona men's tennis program, competing in 23 career doubles matches and 22 career singles matches throughout his time with the Lions.

In singles play, Ung played the bulk of his matches in the No. 5 slot while also seeing time in the No. 2, No. 4, and No. 6 spots in the lineup. In doubles, he played most frequently in the No. 3 pair while also playing matches in the No. 1 and No. 2 slots. In total, Ung recorded six victories in singles matches and seven wins in doubles matches.

Ung has been recognized by the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference for his work in the classroom, including being named an individual Peak Performer in the 2018-19 season. He has also been selected to the conference's All-Sportsmanship team.

Ung is the son of Heng Ung and Houng Kouch. He is a native of Upper Chichester, Pennsylvania and graduated from Chichester High School. Ung will graduate from Penn State Altoona with a degree in Psychology.
