AURORA, N.Y. – In a Saturday afternoon tri-match hosted at Wells College's Schwartz Center, the Penn State Altoona men's volleyball team lost 3-1 to North Eastern Athletic Conference opponent Wells before sweeping non-conference foe Bard College.

In the Lions' (15-12, 5-3 NEAC) first match of the day, they wrapped up the NEAC regular season schedule by falling 22-25, 25-18, 25-19, 25-16 to Wells (19-7, 7-1 NEAC).

Justin Bannister (Willow Hill, PA/Fannett-Metal) led Penn State Altoona in kills with 13 while adding eight digs and one service ace. Brian Sheddy (Shrewsbury, PA/Susquehannock) contributed nine kills, nine digs, one solo block, and one block assist.

Tommy Kisick (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) totaled 30 assists to go along with four digs and three kills. Brandon Arentz (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern) posted a match-high 14 digs.

In Penn State Altoona's second match of the day, which was the team's last of the regular season, it bounced back with a 25-15, 25-16, 25-19 victory over Bard (3-20).

Dan Downs (Reading, PA/Daniel Boone) tied for the team-high in kills with seven, and he added two block assists and one solo block. Andrew Taylor (Delmar, NY/Bethlehem Central) posted a season-high seven kills and also finished with two block assists and one solo block. Dylan Appleman (Roaring Spring, PA/Central) chipped in six kills, four digs, three block assists, and a match-high three aces.

Kisick led all players with 28 assists, and he also recorded five kills, three digs, one block assist, and one ace. Arentz again totaled a match-high in digs, finishing with 12, while Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) tied his season-high mark with seven digs.

With the regular season now concluded, Penn State Altoona advances into the NEAC Tournament and will look to defend their 2017 championship. The Lions are the number four seed in the postseason tournament and will host fifth-seeded Medaille College on Tuesday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. in the Adler Arena.
