Women's Bowling Opens Competition in Wildcat Invitational

NEW CASTLE, Del. - Penn State Altoona women's bowling recorded an 0-5 record in day one of the three-day Wilmington University DII-DIII Wildcat Invitational on Friday at the Bowlerama.

Friday's competition consisted of five baker matches based on total pinfall.

Kutztown University held down first place by the end of Friday's action, tallying a total pinfall of 4,526. Adelphi University was in second with 4,467 pins, and Chestnut Hill College was third with 4,455 pins.

Penn State Altoona found itself in 12th place by the end of day one, totaling 2,795 pins. The Lady Lions suffered losses to Long Island University - Post (776-569), Felician University (810-546), New Jersey City University (628-591), Chestnut Hill (855-557), and Mount Aloysius College (899-532).

Nikki Watt (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) led Penn State Altoona on the day with a baker average of 15.3. Rylee Duck (Mifflintown, PA/Juniata) averaged 11.96, and Kyrstin Johnson (Altoona, PA/Great Commission) posted a 10.78 baker average.

Day two of the Wildcat Invitational picks up tomorrow, Saturday, December 2 at 10:00 a.m. The format will consist of five traditional team matches.
