Four Lady Lion Bowlers Named to NTCA All-Academic Team
BROOKLYN, N.Y. – Four student-athletes from Penn State Altoona women's bowling were named to the 2017-18 National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) All-Academic Team, which was released on Monday.
Each season, the NTCA recognizes student-athletes who have excelled in the classroom by compiling an All-Academic Team. To be included, a student-athlete must have a cumulative grade-point average of 3.4 or higher for the academic school year. The 2017-18 NTCA All-Academic Team is comprised of a record 268 honorees, representing NCAA women's bowling programs at 55 different institutions.
The four Penn State Altoona women's bowlers who earned spots on the 2017-18 NTCA All-Academic Team are:
Rylee Duck (Mifflintown, PA/Juniata) - sophomore - Childhood and Early Adolescent Education major
Kyrstin Johnson (Altoona, PA/Great Commission) - junior - Business-Accounting major
Sierra Snigier (Seaford, DE/Seaford) - freshman - Communications major
Nicole Watt (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfolye) - junior - Business-Accounting major
Additionally, the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team was recognized for its collective outstanding academic performance in 2017-18 when it was named an NTCA All-Academic Team. The Lady Lions combined for a 3.43 GPA in the 2017-18 academic year.
