Women's Bowling Team Recognized for Academics

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team was honored for its work in the classroom on Friday, when the National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) released its list of 2018-19 All-Academic Team Award recipients.

The NTCA All-Academic Team Award is given to NCAA women's bowling teams that post a cumulative team grade-point average of 3.2 or higher for the academic school year. The 2018-19 Penn State Altoona women's bowling team was one of 38 teams nationally to qualify for the award, as the Lady Lions compiled a team GPA of 3.42 this past academic year.

Virginia State University posted the highest cumulative GPA of any team on the list, recording a 3.643 GPA this past year. Penn State Altoona's team GPA of 3.42 ranked as the 20th-highest GPA of any women's bowling program.
