Women’s Bowling Releases 2019-20 Schedule

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's bowling program announced its 2019-20 season schedule on Tuesday.

The Lady Lions' schedule features 15 regular season dates of competition. One particular highlight this season is a new home bowling alley for the team, as the squad will bowl its home matches at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes in the Bavarian Aid Society of Altoona.

Penn State Altoona women's bowling starts its 2019-20 season on Sunday, October 20 at 9:00 a.m. when it will face nearby Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Mount Aloysius College in a dual match hosted by the Lady Mounties at Gerhart Lanes. The Lady Lions' home opener is Thursday, October 24 against AMCC foe Saint Vincent College, with the start time slated for 6:00 p.m.

The Lady Lions will compete in two events during November. On Tuesday, November 12, Penn State Altoona will complete its home-and-home series with St. Vincent by traveling to Hillview Lanes in Greensburg, Pa. to face the Lady Bearcats at 6:00 p.m. On Sunday, November 17 at 12:00 p.m., Penn State Altoona will host fellow AMCC schools La Roche University, Pitt-Bradford, and St. Vincent in a quad match at the Bavarian Aid Society.

Penn State Altoona rounds out its calendar year with a home dual match against La Roche on Sunday, December 8 at 12:00 p.m.

The Lady Lions resume their schedule on Sunday, January 19, when they will hit the road to play Pitt-Bradford at Byllye Lanes in Bradford, Pa. at 11:00 a.m. After that, Penn State Altoona will compete in the three-day Saint Francis University Red Flash Invitational, which runs from Friday, January 24 through Sunday, January 26 at Holiday Bowl in Altoona.

February opens with the first AMCC Round Robin event of the season, as Penn State Behrend will host the conference for the first of two regular season league-wide competitions on Saturday, February 1 and Sunday, February 2. Next, the Lady Lions head back to Hillview Lanes in Greensburg to play in the Brother Patrick Lacey Memorial Tournament at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, February 16. Penn State Altoona wraps up February with a dual match against La Roche on Saturday, February 22 at 9:30 a.m.

The second and final AMCC Round Robin of the season is Saturday, March 7 and Sunday, March 8, and it will be hosted by Mount Aloysius and played at the Bavarian Aid Society's Gerhart Lanes.

Should Penn State Altoona qualify for the AMCC Championships, the Lady Lions would travel to Sims Lanes in Beaver Falls, Pa. to face off against their conference opponents in the postseason on Friday, March 20 through Sunday, March 22.
