BRADFORD, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team wrapped up the second and final day of this weekend's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin #2, hosted by Pitt-Bradford at Byllye Lanes, in eighth place out of nine teams after Sunday's round.

This weekend's round robin marks the final 2021-22 AMCC regular season bowling event and cements the seeding heading into the conference postseason tournament, which will be held March 25-27. Penn State Altoona women's bowling finishes its AMCC schedule with a 2-14 record this season and will not qualify for the conference tournament.

Penn State Altoona posted a 1-3 record in Sunday's traditional team format matches. The Lions went 2-6 on the weekend to place eighth out of nine competing squads, and they dropped a total of 5,522 pins in eight matches.

Saint Vincent College went 8-0 on the weekend to finish first and clinch the top seed in the AMCC Tournament later this spring, and the Bearcats also had 7,162 total pins in this weekend's competition. Pitt-Bradford was 7-1 this weekend with 6,588 pins and placed second, and Medaille College went 5-3 to come in third while totaling 6,835 pins.

After facing four AMCC opponents on Saturday, Penn State Altoona rounded out its slate of conference foes during Sunday's round. The Lions started Sunday with a 675-594 loss to New Jersey City University, then fell 839-682 to Pitt-Bradford. Penn State Altoona produced its highest traditional team match score of the season in its third match of the day, coming back to defeat La Roche University by a tight 847-845 decision. St. Vincent dealt Penn State Altoona an 895-628 loss in the Lions' final match of the weekend.

Allyson Givler (Lancaster, PA/Hempfield) led Penn State Altoona in total pinfall and average on the weekend, putting down a team-high 1,212 pins in eight matches for a per game average of 151.5. She ranked 21st out of 57 competing bowlers on the weekend's individual leaderboard.

Chloe Mazza (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) ranked 23rd individually with 1,182 pins, averaging 147.75 per game. Breanna Yarnall (Bedford, PA/Bedford) followed closely in 24th place, dropping 1,140 pins and averaging 142.5 per game.

Brooke Colledge (Everett, PA/Everett) took 31st place individually with 1,006 pins on the weekend for an average of 125.75 per game. Kaitlyn Estright (Norristown, PA/Archbishop Carroll) finished in 33rd place with 982 total pins, bowling 122.75 per game.

Penn State Altoona will round out its 2021-22 schedule with a two-day non-conference competition, as the Lions will take part in the Mid State Mountie Classic, hosted by Mount Aloysius College on Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6 at F.A. Gerhart Lanes in Altoona.
