Women’s Bowling Finishes AMCC Round Robin Weekend

KENMORE, N.Y. – After the last day of the second and final Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin of the season, hosted by Medaille University at Classic Lanes this weekend, the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team finished in ninth place out of 11 conference teams.

Penn State Altoona went 0-5 in Sunday's five-game baker matches, finishing its two days of competition in this weekend's AMCC Round Robin with a 2-8 head-to-head record. The Lions compiled a total pinfall of 6,949 across 10 matches, averaging 139.0 per game as a team.

Saint Vincent College won the weekend, going a perfect 10-0 with a 9,070 pinfall. Host Medaille took second with a 9-1 record and 8,979 pins, and Penn State Behrend placed third with an 8-2 record and 8,226 pins.

In its first match of the day, Penn State Altoona lost 731-698 to Mount Aloysius College. The Lions followed that up with a 753-662 loss to New Jersey City University.

After a bye, Penn State Altoona returned to play by facing Penn State Behrend, and despite the Lions rolling their best team score of the day, Altoona fell 809-740. Penn State Altoona finished Sunday's round by losing 769-706 to Medaille and 888-664 to St. Vincent.

This weekend's AMCC Round Robin concludes the conference's regular season schedule. Penn State Altoona holds a 5-15 record in the AMCC, which is part of a 12-31 overall record.

Next up, Penn State Altoona women's bowling ventures back into non-conference play for its last event of the regular season. The Lions will compete in the Mid-State Mountie Classic, hosted by Mount Aloysius, on Saturday, March 4 and Sunday, March 5 at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes in the Bavarian Aid Society in Altoona.
