Lions Finish 10th in AMCC Round Robin #2

NORTH BRUNSWICK TWP., N.J. – By the conclusion of the third and final day of this weekend's Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin #2 on Sunday, the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team settled for 10th place out 11 teams.

Saint Vincent College took first place in the conference with a 9-1 record over the weekend, which consisted of traditional team format matches and was hosted by New Jersey City University at Bowlero. William Smith College also had a 9-1 record on the weekend and took the runner-up spot, and Alvernia University went 8-2 to finish third.

Penn State Altoona compiled a 3-7 record from Friday through Sunday, finishing in 10th place on the team leaderboard. The Lions dropped 7,353 pins as a team through 10 matches, averaging 147.1 per game.

Kennedie Lauver (New Berlin, PA/Mifflinburg) finished as Penn State Altoona's top bowler in both pinfall and average this weekend. Bowling all 10 games, she totaled 1,670 pins to rank 15th out of 68 individual bowlers in the tournament, and she averaged 167.0 per game. Chloe Mazza (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township) placed 18th individually with a total pinfall of 1,619 pins in 10 games, averaging 161.9 per game.

Kaitlyn Search (Allentown, NJ/New Egypt) finished with 1,301 pins while rolling nine games, averaging 144.56 per game. Brooke Yarnall (Bedford, PA/Bedford) bowled seven games and averaged 134.57 per game, putting down 942 pins.

Isabelle Forcey (Clearfield, PA/DuBois Central Catholic) played seven games and totaled 859 pins, finishing with a scoring average of 122.71 per game. Breanna Yarnall (Bedford, PA/Bedford) dropped 832 pins across six games, averaging 138.67 per game. Maddy Sosko (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) bowled in one game, scoring 130.

After competing in seven matches through Friday and Saturday's rounds, Penn State Altoona wrapped up its weekend with three more matches on Sunday against the remaining conference teams: Pitt-Greensburg, Hilbert College, and St. Vincent. The Lions suffered a loss to each opponent and finished the weekend with a 3-7 head-to-head record.

Penn State Altoona opened Sunday's round against Pitt-Greensburg, losing 822-721. The Lions suffered a tight loss in their second match of the day, falling 723-716 to Hilbert. Penn State Altoona posted its best score of the day in its third and final match against first-place St. Vincent, but the Lions still ultimately lost by a score of 831-796.

With the second and final weekend of AMCC play now complete, the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team finishes conference play with a 4-16 record, part of an 11-31 overall record.

The Lions women's bowling team dips back into non-conference play for its next event, as Penn State Altoona will compete in the annual Br. Pat Lacey Memorial Tournament on Saturday, February 10, hosted by St. Vincent at Lincoln Lanes in Latrobe. The tournament is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
