Women’s Bowling Honors Seniors in Season Finale

ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's bowling team concluded its 2023-24 season schedule on Saturday at its home venue, the F.A. Gerhart Lanes at the Bavarian Aid Society.

The Lions held their Senior Day, recognizing senior bowlers Janine Maxwell (North Chicago, IL/North Chicago), Chloe Mazza (Burlington, NJ/Burlington Township), and Breanna Yarnall (Bedford, PA/Bedford), before taking on fellow Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference squad La Roche University in an exhibition match.

"Our seniors were wonderful young ladies and good bowlers. They will be missed, but we wish them the best in all their future endeavors to come," said Penn State Altoona head coach Elizabeth Rhodes. "Thank you to La Roche for spending the day with us. Both teams enjoyed the friendly competition. Thank you to the family and friends who attended, as well as to the staff at the F.A. Gerhart Lanes for allowing our team to call your lanes our home, also."

Maxwell was a first-year member of the Penn State Altoona women's bowling team. In baker matches this season, she rolled 75 frames and finished with a baker average of 11.68. In traditional team matches, Maxwell bowled 50 frames and averaged 115.6 per game.

Mazza has also been recognized on the AMCC's Academic All-Conference team as a Peak Performer.
