Ochoa Finishes as Runner-Up in Penn State Altoona Invitational

ALTOONA, Pa. - In her first event of the 2017 season, Penn State Altoona women's golfer Claudia Ochoa (Fairfax, VA/Robinson Secondary) finished in second place at the Penn State Altoona Invitational at Sinking Valley Country Club.

Competing among a field of 10 women's golfers from three other regional schools (Juniata College, Mount Aloysius College, and Penn State Behrend), Ochoa shot a 94 to earn runner-up status.

Juniata's Emily Dowler shot 90 to win the event, and Mount Aloysius' Rachel Mackrell came in third place with a 95.

Ochoa returns to action tomorrow, Sunday, September 17, as the Penn State Altoona golf program competes in the Mount Aloysius College Invitational. That event is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
