Women’s Soccer Stumbles 4-0 at Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's soccer had its recent momentum stopped on Saturday afternoon, when it sustained a 4-0 loss to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend.

Riley Barrett (Sunbury, PA/Shikellamy) made six saves in goal for Penn State Altoona (6-6-2, 3-3-1 AMCC). Sydney Emershaw (Dallas, PA/Dallas) and Kierra Irwin (Altoona, PA/Altoona) each posted one shot for the Lady Lions.

Penn State Behrend (8-6, 6-0 AMCC) took the lead at 8:09 when Brenna McGuire scored, and McGuire made it 2-0 at 49:18 with another goal. The home team upped its lead to 3-0 at 54:33 on an Emily Indof tally, and a Penn State Altoona own goal at 85:38 made it 4-0.

Behrend held a 16-2 advantage in shots, including a 10-0 lead in shots on goal. They also led 2-0 in corner kicks.
