SEATTLE, Wash. – Following a fan vote this week, Penn State Altoona freshman forward Sadie McConnell (New Enterprise, PA/Northern Bedford) was named the HEROSports.com D3 HERO of the Week in women's soccer for her game against Hilbert College last Saturday, October 20.

In Penn State Altoona's 3-0 victory over Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Hilbert, McConnell propelled her team to victory by scoring two goals and assisting on the other. She also led all players in the game in total shots attempted (10) and shots on goal (9).

McConnell won a tightly-contested fan vote to secure the HERO of the Week recognition. She received 694 out of the 1,491 votes cast (46.55%), edging out Wesley College's Mackenzie Forsythe for first place by just seven votes.
