No. 18 Tartans Deal Lions 7-0 Loss

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's soccer suffered a 7-0 setback at nationally-ranked non-conference opponent Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday.

Alex Adams scored three goals for No. 18 Carnegie Mellon (10-3-1), while Cecelia Dieterich, Nikki Hasson, Alana Frederick, and Anna Maria Ferrante scored one goal each for the Tartans. The home team scored four goals during the first half, then tacked three more on to its total during the second period.

Adeline Baustert (Apollo, PA/Apollo-Ridge) started at goalkeeper for Penn State Altoona (7-8) and made a season-high 20 saves. Baustert's total of 20 saves ties for the most saves in a game in Penn State Altoona women's soccer history, matching former keeper Mackenzie Strubhar's total of 20 saves from a game at Dickinson College on September 5, 2012.

Penn State Altoona women's soccer will look to get back on track in its final game of the regular season this Tuesday, October 26, when the Lions travel to play nearby Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Mount Aloysius College at 6:00 p.m.
