Women's Swimming Loses to Salisbury in First Home Meet

ALTOONA, Pa. - The Penn State Altoona women's swimming team hosted its first home event of the season on Friday evening against non-conference opponent Salisbury University at the Altoona Area High School Pool, and the Lady Lions suffered a 193-59 defeat.

The Lady Lions earned seven second place finishes.

Emily Booz (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga) had two individual second places for her team. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, Booz was the runner-up with a time of 2:17.45. She also clinched second place in the 100 Yard Backstroke, finishing in 1:05.32.

Hannah Kimmick (Youngwood, PA/Hempfield) also picked up a pair of second place individual finishes. In the 100 Yard Freestyle, Kimmick was second with a time of 1:05.38. She also finished in second during the 500 Yard Freestyle, recording a time of 6:14.83.

Emily Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) also grabbed two second place finishes in individual events. In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Beam finished in 1:11.20 to earn runner-up status. She later placed second in the 50 Yard Butterfly with a time of 31.00.

The Lady Lions' seventh second place finish came in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, during which the team of Mariah Lee (Ardmore, PA/Haverford), Ariana Paulhamus (Jersey Shore, PA/Jersey Shore), Alexis Franks (Pleasant Gap, PA/Bellefonte), and Kimmick posted a total time of 1:58.19.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming is back in action tomorrow, Saturday, November 4, when it hits the road to face Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Franciscan University for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet.
