Lady Lions Swimming Wins 72-46 Over Bethany

ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's swimming earned its second dual meet win of the season on Saturday afternoon, defeating non-conference opponent Bethany College 72-46 at the Altoona Area High School Pool.

The Lady Lions clinched six first place finishes during the meet.

In the day's opening event, the 400 Yard Medley Relay, Penn State Altoona's squad of Emily Booz (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga), Elizabeth Anderson (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land), Emily Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), and Mariah Lee (Ardmore, PA/Haverford) combined for a time of 4:53.68 to place first.

Booz also recorded two individual first places. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, she won with a time of 2:14.04. Later, Booz came in first in the 200 Yard Backstroke, finishing in 2:23.65.

Hannah Kimmick (Youngwood, PA/Hempfield) notched a first place finish in the 1,650 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 21:28.21. Danielle Bye (Hockessin, DE/Cab Calloway School of the Arts) won the 400 Yard I.M. with a time of 5:21.73. Beam won the 200 Yard Butterfly, coming in first place after recording a time of 2:46.55.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming hosts another home dual meet next Saturday, November 18, facing new Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College at 1:00 p.m. at the Altoona Area High School Pool.
