Lady Lions Swimming Downed by Behrend in Regular Season Finale

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's swimming closed out its regular season schedule on Saturday afternoon, losing 131-75 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend in the first meet in the newly-renovated Adler Natatorium.
The Lady Lions started the day off strong with a win in the 200-yard Medley Relay, as Emily Booz (Berwyn, PA/Conestoga), Elizabeth Anderson (Lewisberry, PA/Red Land), Emily Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), and Hannah Kimmick (Youngwood, PA/Hempfield) notched the winning time of 2:10.01. Later, Anderson and Beam got the top two places in the 100-yard Breaststroke with times of 1:21.21 and 1:25.75, respectively.
Danielle Bye (Hockessin, DE/Cab Calloway School of the Arts) won the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:04.16, and she also came away with second place in the 200-yard Freestyle with a 2:13.56 time.
Anderson took care of business in the 200-yard Breaststroke with a first-place time of 3:02.54, and Booz captured the runner-up spot in the 200-yard Backstroke with a time of 2:24.41.
The Lady Lions will look to finish the season strong at the four-day AMCC Championships, which begin Wednesday, February 14 and are hosted by Penn State Behrend in Erie, Pa.
Notes: The Lady Lions recognized senior Alexis Franks (Pleasant Gap, PA/Bellefonte) in her final meet at Adler natatorium, as part of the swimming program's Senior Day.
