Women’s Swimming Falls to Juniata

ALTOONA, Pa. – In its final home meet of the 2018-19 season, the Penn State Altoona women's swimming team suffered a 102-39 loss to non-conference opponent Juniata College in the Adler Natatorium.

Danielle Bye (Hockessin, DE/Cab Calloway School of the Arts) had the lone first place for the Lady Lions, when she won the 50 Yard Freestyle with a time of 27.49. Bye also recorded a second place finish in the 100 Yard Butterfly, clocking in at 1:03.67.

Hannah Kimmick (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield) picked up a pair of runner-up finishes in individual events. In the 200 Yard Freestyle, she placed second with a time of 2:22.15. Later, she came in second place in the 500 Yard Freestyle by finishing in 6:19.55.

Kaitlin Heil (Pittsburgh, PA/CAPA) and Emily Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) each finished with one second place finish. Heil took second in the 100 Yard Freestyle, clocking in at 1:04.69. Beam was second in the 100 Yard Breaststroke with a time of 1:26.09.

Penn State Altoona recorded a second place finish as a team in the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay, during which the squad of Heil, Beam, Kimmick, and Bye combined for a time of 4:17.97.

The Lady Lions swim team gets right back at it tomorrow, Saturday, November 10, when they will travel to compete in a dual meet against Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
