ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams announced their 2019-20 season schedules on Friday.

Including the four-day Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships, the men's squad will compete in a total of 14 dates, while the women's team will swim in 16 dates.

The Penn State Altoona swimming season opens on Saturday, October 12, when the men's and women's teams will travel to take part in the annual Pitt-Bradford Relays, which begin at 1:00 p.m. that day. The Lions and Lady Lions will return to Bradford, Pa. for their next meets, as the teams will face AMCC opponents Pitt-Bradford and SUNY Delhi in a tri-meet on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m.

The month of November begins with back-to-back women's-only meets. The Lady Lions hit the road to swim against AMCC foe Franciscan University in a dual meet on Saturday, November 2 at 1:00 p.m. After that, the women's swimming team will travel to Huntingdon, Pa. to compete in a tri-meet with Juniata College and Division II opponent California University of Pennsylvania on Friday, November 8 at 6:00 p.m.

Penn State Altoona's men's and women's swimming teams hold their home opener on Saturday, November 16, welcoming AMCC opponent Alfred State College to the Adler Natatorium for a 1:00 p.m. dual meet. The Lions wrap up November by competing in the three-day Erie Community College Invitational, which runs from Friday, November 22 through Sunday, November 24.

The Lions and Lady Lions have one more meet before winter break, hosting defending AMCC champion Penn State Behrend for a 1:00 p.m. dual on Saturday, December 7.

January holds three non-conference dual meets – all of them occurring at home – for Penn State Altoona. On Saturday, January 11, the Lions and Lady Lions host Bethany College at 1:00 p.m. On Tuesday, January 14, Penn State Altoona hosts Wells College for a weekday matinee meet starting at 1:00 p.m. The Lions and Lady Lions end their month against Gallaudet University on Friday, January 17 at 6:00 p.m.

Penn State Altoona finishes its season in the four-day AMCC Championships, which will be held at the Webster Aquatic Center in Webster, N.Y. The championships start on Wednesday, February 19 and run through Saturday, February 22.
