Women’s Swimming Defeated by Juniata, Cal U

HUNTINGDON, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's swimming competed in a tri-meet on Friday evening at Juniata College's Binder Natatorium, and the Lady Lions suffered a 157-40 defeat to Juniata while also losing 134-31 to Division II opponent California University of Pennsylvania.

Penn State Altoona recorded a pair of first place finishes during the meet, with both of them coming courtesy of Grace Dangelo (State College, PA/State College).

Dangelo won the 200 SC Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:15.93. Later in the meet, she took first place in the 100 SC Meter Backstroke by clocking in at 1:10.32.

The Lady Lions also had a second place finish, as Avery Heisey (Lancaster, PA/Conestoga Valley) was the runner-up in the 50 SC Meter Freestyle when she finished in 29.43.

Penn State Altoona women's swimming will host its first home meet of the season next Saturday, November 16, when the Lady Lions welcome Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College to the Adler Natatorium for a dual meet starting at 1:00 p.m.
