Women’s Swimming Finishes 13th at Oberlin Invitational

OBERLIN, Ohio – By the end of the third and final day of the Oberlin College Invitational on Sunday at Carr Pool, the Penn State Altoona women's swimming team occupied 13th place out of 13 teams.

The Lady Lions accumulated 79 points as a team after participating in two of the three days of the Oberlin Invitational. Allegheny College won the invitational with 1,603 points, Ashland University was the runner-up with 1,162.5 points, and Malone University placed third with 849.5 points.

After another session of preliminaries in the morning on Sunday, the day's action advanced to finals in the evening.

Penn State Altoona picked up its only points in Sunday's finals in the 100 Yard Butterfly. In that swim, Grace Dangelo (State College, PA/State College) scored 20 points for the Lady Lions by finishing in 59.67, winning the 'B' final group and placing ninth out of 24 total finals swimmers in the event.

Next up, Penn State Altoona women's swimming returns to the Adler Natatorium to host Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend on Saturday, December 7 at 1:00 p.m.
