Lady Lions Tennis Loses 6-3 at Medaille

WILLIAMSVILLE, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona women's tennis fell 6-3 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Medaille College on Sunday afternoon at Village Glen.

Penn State Altoona (1-2, 1-2 AMCC) picked up one point in doubles when the tandem of Brayley Lewis (Roaring Spring, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle)/Annie Ruggles (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) won 8-3 in the No. 2 slot.

But Medaille won two out of three in doubles, then proceeded to take four out of six singles matches to win the day.

Lewis earned a 6-0, 6-0 victory in No. 2 singles, and Sophia Girol (South Park, PA/South Park) won 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 in No. 3.

Next, Penn State Altoona hosts its first home match of the season on Friday, September 15 at 4:00 p.m., when the Lady Lions face AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend at the Altoona Area High School Leopold Tennis Courts.
