ALTOONA, Pa. – The Penn State Altoona women's tennis program announced its 2019 schedule on Tuesday morning.

The Lady Lions have a slate of 16 matches this upcoming season, including eight Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference matches and six matches to be played on the team's home Adler Tennis Courts.

Penn State Altoona starts its fall with five consecutive road matches. The Lady Lions open their season on Saturday, August 31, when the squad will travel to play Geneva College in a 4:00 p.m. match. The next day, Sunday, September 1, Penn State Altoona will face Westminster College at 1:00 p.m. The Lady Lions' next three matches are against AMCC opponents D'Youville College (Saturday, September 7 at 1:00 p.m.), Medaille College (Sunday, September 8 at 11:00 a.m.), and defending conference champion Franciscan University (Thursday, September 12 at 7:00 p.m.).

The Lady Lions start their home schedule with back-to-back matches against conference foes La Roche University (Friday, September 13 at 4:30 p.m.) and Mount Aloysius College (Saturday, September 14 at 11:00 a.m.). After a road match at Frostburg State University on Wednesday, September 18 at 6:30 p.m., Penn State Altoona returns home to face AMCC opponent Penn State Behrend on Friday, September 20 at 4:00 p.m.

The Lady Lions finish the month of September by traveling to face Lycoming College (Saturday, September 21 at 1:00 p.m.) and Waynesburg University (Sunday, September 29 at 1:30 p.m.), while hosting Saint Vincent College (Saturday, September 28 at 1:00 p.m.).

Penn State Altoona hits the road for its first match of October, when it will go up against AMCC opponent Pitt-Bradford on Saturday, October 5 at 1:00 p.m. The Lady Lions close out their fall regular season schedule with a doubleheader on Sunday, October 6, when the team will host AMCC foe Pitt-Greensburg at 12:00 p.m. and non-conference opponent Bethany College at 5:00 p.m.

The first round of the AMCC Tournament is set for Saturday, October 12, and the championship rounds are scheduled for Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20.

The Lady Lions are also currently scheduled for one spring date, as the men's and women's tennis teams will travel together to play Lycoming on Saturday, March 21 at 1:00 p.m.
