Lady Lions Drop Two Matches Saturday

LANCASTER, Pa. - Penn State Altoona women's volleyball suffered a pair of 3-0 non-conference losses on Saturday in the Franklin & Marshall College Scramble, falling to Franklin & Marshall and Lebanon Valley College in the Mayser Center.

In the day's first match, Franklin & Marshall (5-1) prevailed in straight sets by scores of 25-16, 25-12, 25-20.

Penn State Altoona (2-6) was led in kills by Josie Stovall (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra), who had seven. Kelsey Bristol (Troy, PA/Troy) posted six kills and 11 digs, and Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) had four kills, nine digs, and two block assists.

Lauren Moran (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) had team-highs with 17 assists and 12 digs, and she also contributed four kills.

In Penn State Altoona's second and final match of the day, the Lady Lions lost 25-7, 25-21, 25-14 to Lebanon Valley (5-3).

Diller led the team with five kills. Stovall added four kills and one solo block, and Bristol had three kills and seven digs.

Moran put up nine assists, and Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) chipped in five assists.

Clara Good (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) led Penn State Altoona in digs with eight, and Olivia Meyer (Centre Hall, PA/Penns Valley) added five digs.

Next up for the Lady Lions is a home non-conference match against Frostburg State University on Wednesday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m.

Notes: Moran was named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the weekend's matches in the Franklin & Marshall Scramble. In three matches, the freshman posted 50 assists (5.00 assists per set) and 19 digs (1.90 digs per set).
