Lady Lions Drop Non-Conference Match at Frostburg

FROSTBURG, Md. - For the second time this season, the Penn State Altoona women's volleyball team was handed a 3-0 defeat by non-conference opponent Frostburg State University.

The Lady Lions (9-9, 5-0 AMCC) lost 25-14, 25-20, 25-15 at Frostburg's Bobcat Arena on Thursday night. Penn State Altoona had faced Frostburg (13-7, 1-1 CAC) once already this season in Altoona, losing in three sets.

Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) led the Lady Lions in kills with seven, and she also had nine digs and one block assist. Kelsey Bristol (Troy, PA/Troy) contributed six kills and two block assists while leading her team in digs with 14. Josie Stovall (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) added four kills and a team-high four total blocks (one solo block, three block assists), and Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) recorded four kills and six digs.

Lauren Moran (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) finished with a team-best 10 set assists to go along with nine digs and two block assists. Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) had seven assists and six digs. Nicole Kiser (Altoona, PA/Bishop Guilfoyle) posted 11 digs.

Penn State Altoona women's volleyball returns to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference play on Wednesday, October 11, traveling to Pittsburgh to take on La Roche College in a 7:00 p.m. match.
