Women’s Volleyball Wins Two in Saturday AMCC Action

GREENSBURG, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball racked up two Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference wins on Saturday afternoon at Pitt-Greensburg's Chambers Hall Gym, defeating Hilbert College 3-0 and D'Youville College 3-1.

The Lady Lions (6-16, 3-3 AMCC) swept Hilbert (0-13, 0-4 AMCC) 25-16, 25-19, 25-10 in their first match of the day.

Lauren Moran (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) had match-highs with 13 digs, 11 assists, and eight service aces. Moran's total of eight aces is tied for the second-most in a match in Penn State Altoona women's volleyball history.

Kelsey Bristol (Troy, PA/Troy) had a team-high six kills to go along with seven digs. Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) had five kills, 10 assists, seven digs, and one solo block, Eden Taddei (Hollidaysburg, PA/Hollidaysburg) posted five kills, one solo block, and one block assist, and Kaitlin Cassaday (Bel Air, MD/Bel Air) totaled five kills and one block assist.

In its second match of the day, Penn State Altoona earned a 25-10, 25-15, 28-30, 25-19 victory over D'Youville (2-20, 2-4 AMCC).

Bristol accumulated a season-high 30 digs to lead all players in the match, and she added 19 kills and seven assists. Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) added seven kills and five digs. Bryan finished with six kills, 15 assists, and 15 digs, while Cassaday had six kills, 10 digs, and two aces.

Kaila Clawson (Altoona, PA/Altoona) recorded 12 digs, and Moran had 11 digs, seven assists, and two aces.

Penn State Altoona women's volleyball hosts AMCC opponent Franciscan University on Tuesday, October 16 at 7:00 p.m.
