Women’s Volleyball Swept at York

YORK, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball dropped its sixth match in a row on Wednesday night, when the Lady Lions were defeated 3-0 by York College at the Charles Wolf Gymnasium.

York (8-8) prevailed in straight sets, winning by scores of 25-20, 25-18, and 25-19.

Jenna Bauer (Ebensburg, PA/Central Cambria) had a team-high seven kills to go along with 12 digs, while Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) posted a team-leading 16 digs and added six kills and a solo block.

Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) tallied three kills, and Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) had nine digs, two kills, and a solo block. Sara Russo (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) also had two kills, and Lilia Farach (Tegucigalpa, Honduras/International School of Panama) and Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) each recorded a solo block.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) put up a team-best 12 assists, and Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) chipped in six assists, eight digs, and a service ace. Lexie Dorcon (Berlin, PA/Berlin Brothersvalley) totaled six digs.

For its next matches, Penn State Altoona women's volleyball will open its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule on the road this Saturday, September 28 at Penn State Behrend. That day, the Lady Lions will face Behrend at 10:00 a.m. before taking on Medaille College at 2:00 p.m.
