Lady Lions Volleyball Sweeps Franciscan 3-0

STEUBENVILLE, Ohio – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball recorded its fifth Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference win of the fall on Tuesday evening, when the Lady Lions posted a 3-0 victory over conference foe Franciscan University at the Finnegan Fieldhouse.

Penn State Altoona (9-10, 5-2 AMCC) picked up a 25-22, 25-22, 25-12 victory. The Lady Lions capitalized on Franciscan's (10-12, 3-3 AMCC) 25 attack errors, while limiting their own attack error total to eight.

Velanna Skripek (Moshannon, PA/Bald Eagle) tied her season-high for kills with eight to lead Penn State Altoona in that department, and she chipped in four digs. Sara Russo (Lebanon, PA/Cedar Crest) added five kills on a team-high .556 attack percentage, and she also finished with three block assists.

Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) finished with five kills and nine digs, and Lauren Diller (Chambersburg, PA/Chambersburg) added four kills, 10 digs, and three block assists.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) totaled a team-high eight assists to go along with six digs and a service ace, and Emily Bryan (Waynesboro, PA/Waynesboro) had seven assists, six digs, a team-best two aces, and one block assist.

Jenna Bauer (Ebensburg, PA/Central Cambria) recorded a team-high 11 digs while also recording two block assists, and Lexie Dorcon (Berlin, PA/Berlin Brothersvalley) added five digs. Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) had two block assists.

Penn State Altoona women's volleyball continues its AMCC schedule with a morning road match on Saturday, October 26, when the Lady Lions will travel to New York state to face Alfred State College at 10:00 a.m.
