Women’s Volleyball Swept by Penn State Behrend

ERIE, Pa. – Penn State Altoona women's volleyball was handed its second Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference loss of the season on Saturday afternoon by conference foe Penn State Behrend, as the Lions lost 3-0 in the Junker Center.

Behrend (14-4, 4-0 AMCC) prevailed in straight sets, winning 25-21, 25-10, and 25-23.

Penn State Altoona (8-4, 1-2 AMCC) struggled with miscues on offense, committing 30 attack errors to just 29 kills as a team.

Lydia Mock (Alum Bank, PA/Chestnut Ridge) led the Lions with 13 points on 11 kills and two solo blocks. Taylor Myers (Morrisdale, PA/West Branch) and Makenna Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) each finished with five kills and one block assist. Lacee Barnhart (Bellefonte, PA/Bald Eagle) tallied four kills and 12 digs.

Erin Lutz (State College, PA/State College) had a team-high 17 digs. Alexis Cannistraci (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone) led the defense up front, totaling two solo blocks and one block assist while chipping in one kill.

Kayla Moran (Boalsburg, PA/State College) led the team in assists with 20, and she added 15 digs, two kills, and a block assist.

Next up, Penn State Altoona will travel to Pittsburgh to take on AMCC opponent La Roche University on Wednesday, October 13 at 7:00 p.m.
