BUFFALO, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona men's soccer opened up its Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference schedule on Saturday afternoon, but the Lions suffered a 3-0 shutout loss at the hands of D'Youville College at Dobson Field.

Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) started in goal for the Lions (0-6, 0-1 AMCC) and made two saves between the pipes. Yaw now needs just five saves to set a new Penn State Altoona men's soccer record for the most saves all-time.

D'Youville (1-4-1, 1-0 AMCC) got two goals and one assist from Hunter Sherman in its win.

The home team opened the scoring at 18:50, when a save off of Yaw deflected back to Sherman, who sent a shot into the net to make it 1-0.

D'Youville tacked on two more goals in the second half. At 65:48, Alf Egge took a pass from Sherman and sent a long, low shot from outside the box into the goal to make it 2-0. Sherman netted his second goal of the night at 81:26, increasing the home team's lead to 3-0.

Penn State Altoona led in total shots attempted, leading D'Youville 15-11. The Lions also led 8-5 in shots on goal, and both teams were tied 3-3 in corner kicks.

Brant Aughenbaugh (Spring Grove, PA/Spring Grove) led all players in shots on goal with four. Evan Cardoza (Altoona, PA/Altoona) also had four shots attempted, with two on goal.
