Lions Swimming Ends Regular Season With 125-81 Loss

ERIE, Pa. – In its last meet of the 2018-19 regular season on Saturday afternoon, the Penn State Altoona men's swimming team lost 125-81 to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference foe Penn State Behrend at the Junker Center Pool.

The Lions tallied five first place finishes on the day, getting four individual wins and one relay win.

Tanner Yaw (Palmyra, PA/Palmyra) had two of his team's five first places. In the 200 Yard Backstroke, he finished first with a time of 2:17.68. Later, Yaw won the 100 Yard Butterfly by clocking in at 56.69.

Andrew Lesnett (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) picked up a first place finish in the 500 Yard Freestyle, in which he finished with a time of 5:29.11. Greg Landis (York, PA/West York) won the 200 Yard IM with a time of 2:25.30.

Penn State Altoona's fifth win of the day came in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, in which the group of Bryce Bauer (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), Lesnett, Michael Begany (Strongsville, OH/Strongsville), and Tyler Stauss (Voorhees, NJ/Eastern Regional) combined for a time of 1:42.82 to take first.

Now the Lions will prepare for the AMCC Championships, which occur February 13-16 at Penn State Behrend.
