Men’s Tennis Blanks Pitt-Greensburg 9-0

ALTOONA, Pa. – Penn State Altoona men's tennis cruised to a 9-0 victory over Pitt-Greensburg on Sunday afternoon in the Lions' Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference home opener at the Gorilla House Gym.

Penn State Altoona (2-0, 2-0 AMCC) opened the day's match by staking out a commanding 3-0 lead after doubles play. In No. 1 doubles, the team of Jake Colledge (Altoona, PA/Altoona)/Parag Dharbhamulla (Johnstown, PA/Westmont Hilltop) was victorious 8-2. In No. 2 doubles, Thomas Graden (Hummelstown, PA/Lower Dauphin)/Jonathan D'Arcy (Doylestown, PA/Central Bucks West) also picked up an 8-2 win, and the duo of Logan Kyle (Reedsville, PA/Mifflin County)/Tao Yang (Emporium, PA/Cameron County) prevailed 8-5 in No. 3 doubles.

The Lions went on to sweep all six singles matches over Pitt-Greensburg (1-2, 1-1 AMCC). Colledge won 6-3, 6-0 in No. 1 singles, and Dharbhamulla followed that with a 6-1, 6-1 win in No. 2 singles. In the No. 3 slot, Graden secured a 7-6 (7-5), 7-5 win, and Yang earned a 6-1, 6-0 victory in the No. 4 flight. D'Arcy won 6-1, 6-2 in No. 5 singles, and Kyle rounded out the matches with a 6-1, 6-3 victory in No. 6 singles.

Next up, Penn State Altoona men's tennis travels to play nearby AMCC opponent Mount Aloysius College for a 5:00 p.m. match on Friday, March 23.
