Men's Tennis Earns AMCC Tournament Berth

ALTOONA, Pa. -- With the 2018 Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's regular season schedule now complete, the Penn State Altoona men's tennis team has officially qualified for the upcoming conference tournament for the second year in a row.

The Lions (3-5, 3-2 AMCC) earned the third seed in the AMCC Tournament and will face second seed Penn State Behrend (12-7, 4-1 AMCC) this Saturday, April 21 in a semifinal round match at Westwood Racquet Club in Erie, Pa. The Penn State Altoona-Penn State Behrend match will start shortly after the conclusion of the 3:30 p.m. match between Franciscan University and Pitt-Greensburg.

The winners of Saturday's matches will advance to the AMCC championship on Sunday, April 22 at 11:30 a.m. at Westwood Racquet Club.

Penn State Altoona and Penn State Behrend met in last year's AMCC semifinal, with Behrend securing the 5-0 victory to earn a championship match berth. During the regular season, Penn State Altoona suffered a 7-2 loss to Behrend on Sunday, March 25 in Erie.
