Women’s Bowling Goes 1-3 in AMCC Round Robin Day One

KENMORE, N.Y. – Penn State Altoona women's bowling recorded one win and three losses in day one of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Round Robin #1 weekend on Saturday at Classic Lanes.

Saturday's action featured four five-game baker matches, decided by total pinfall.

Penn State Altoona started its day with a win, defeating Hilbert College 775-630. After that, the Lady Lions suffered a 954-832 loss to Saint Vincent College. However, in that loss, Penn State Altoona combined to bowl a 210 in the fourth game, representing the third-highest score in a game during a baker match.

After that, Penn State Altoona took a close loss to New Jersey City University, falling 807-746. The Lady Lions finished their day with a 984-656 loss to Medaille College.

"We bowled consistently most of the day until our final match when fatigue set in," said Penn State Altoona head coach John Carey. "Overall, I am thrilled with the progress the girls have made, including our season-high 210 score. Finally, the girls put together a game and bowled to their potential. Everyone contributed today, and I'm proud of their performance."

Penn State Altoona women's bowling continues the AMCC Round Robin #1 weekend tomorrow, Sunday, February 3 at 9:00 a.m. The Lady Lions will face Mount Aloysius College and Pitt-Bradford.
