Pupillo Claims Sixth at Mount Aloysius Invitational

CRESSON, Pa. – Penn State Altoona sophomore golfer Katie Pupillo (Collegeville, PA/Perkiomen Valley) returned to action on Sunday afternoon, competing in the Mount Aloysius College Invitational at Summit Country Club.

Among 19 women's golfers at the event, Pupillo shot 97 to come in sixth place.

"Katie once again finished in the top third of the field," said Penn State Altoona head coach Tom Koehle. "She really showed that she could back up a good round of golf, and she was second among Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference competitors. She has a real shot at the conference's individual title."

Saint Vincent College's Sydney Ball placed first individually on Sunday with a score of 84. Mount Aloysius College's Courtney Link and Susquehanna University's Ella Moores tied for second, as each carded an 87.

Pupillo's next event is scheduled to be Monday, October 7, when she will compete in the Penn State Behrend Invitational at Lawrence Park Golf Club. That round also represents the AMCC Women's Invitational, which will decide the conference's individual women's golf champion.
