In her first season as head coach of the Lady Lions in 2010, Etters helped guide the team to its second-ever AMCC championship and the second NCAA Division III Women's Soccer Tournament appearance in program history.

Etters earned her undergraduate degree in Fine Arts from Penn State University. Etters also serves on several local and state boards, including: Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania, Explore Altoona, City of Altoona Beautification Committee, and Arts Altoona.

During her playing career, Etters was a standout forward at Altoona Area High School. She was named to the PIAA All-State roster in both her junior and senior seasons. Etters also represented the U.S.A., playing in the 1998 Belgium Cup, where she led her team of US Scholastic standouts to victory, earning the tournament's Golden Boot in the process. Following her time at Penn State, she joined the Maryland Pepsi Pride in 2003, playing for two seasons in the WPSL before joining Penn State Altoona’s coaching staff.

Etters is a USSF Licensed Coach and has also been active in the area Youth scene for many years. Etters coached the HSA Storm Girls from 2013-18, guiding them to the top tier in PA West. 14 of the 18 team members went on to play soccer in college at the NAIA, Division II, and Division III levels.
